New Upcoming Movies in 2012 - Part 2


And so continues my trailer fest of the best new upcoming movies in 2012. This is a list of trailers of all the movies I think look like the ones to watch out for this year.


This is the Part 2 for the months of April, May and June. Also check out Part 1 and Part 3 of my New Upcoming Movies. Part 4 will follow soon, and I'll also do a fifth part of movies that don't currently have a release date but are slated to come out this year and are worth casting an eye on.

APRIL


Lockout (previously known as MS One: Maximum Security)
Currently looking like one of the better sci-fi movies coming out this year, this English language, French subtitled trailer gives us an idea of what to expect, action and humour. Guy Pierce is a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. He is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Battleship
Think Transformers in the sea. Based on the Hasbro board game (yes, you read that correctly) of the same name. From the director of Hancock. Starring Liam Neeson, Rhianna and Taylor Kitsch.

The Avengers
And so it starts, the first of the superhero movies. It wasn't enough to have separate movies for Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, now Marvel have gone and put them all in one movie! Directed by Joss Whedon. Starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and more!

The Five Year Engagement
Did you like Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Then you're sure to like this comedy that charts the ups and downs of an engaged couple's relationship. Starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt.

MAY

American Pie: Reunion
Everyone seems to be doing a reunion movie, so American Pie have jumped on the band wagon. Jim, Michelle, Stifler, and their friends reunite for their high school reunion. There are sure to be a few weak laughs.

Jeff Who Lives At Home
Dispatched from his basement room on an errand for his mother, slacker Jeff might finally discover his destiny when he spends the day with his brother as he tracks his possibly adulterous wife. Starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms, with Susan Saradon.

Safe
A former elite agent takes on a two-tier mission: rescue a Chinese girl who's been abducted by the Triads, then use a safe combination to outwit the Russian Mafia, corrupt NYC officials, and the Triads themselves. Starring Jason Statham.

Dark Shadows
Directed by Tim Burton, this movie tells a gothic-horror tale centering on the life of vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts. Based on the cult TV series.

The Dictator
From Sasha Baron Cohen, the guy who brought you Borat and Bruno. The question is, will is be as funny as those?

Men In Black 3
Agent J travels in time to MIB's early years in the 1960s, to stop an alien from assassinating his friend Agent K and changing history. Starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin as the young Agent K.

JUNE

Prometheus
Currently being touted around the internet as the prequel to Aliens. A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. Starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron. Directed by Ridley Scott!

Snow White And The Huntsman
The second of the Snow White reboots that's out this year. In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. Starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been removed as it has been pushed back to 2013.

Storage 24
The next movie from Noel Clarke, who writes and stars in this horror sci-fi. A couple who have just split up find themselves in the middle of a military lock down in London after something gets loose.
