Welcome To The Punch Trailer

Pushing the fact that Ridley "Prometheus" Scott is the executive producer on this, we get to see the first trailer for Welcome To The Punch.

Former criminal Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong) is forced to return to London from his Icelandic hideaway when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives detective Max Lewinsky (James McAvoy) one last chance to catch the man he has always been after. As they face off, they start to uncover a deeper conspiracy they both need to solve in order to survive.

Good to see David Morrissey, the Governor from TV's The Walking Dead, getting into more prominent films.

Looks like plenty of bullets and slow motion. Will it be any good though?

Pacific Rim Trailer

Guillermo Del Toro gives us the first footage of of his kaiju giant monster movie.

In Pacific Rim, an alien attack threatens the Earth's existence. Giant robots, piloted by humans, are deployed to fight off the menace.

Some people are saying it looks like Battleship meets Real Steel, let's just hope it's better than both of those. With Del Toro at the helm, I don't think we need to worry. What do you think?

Weekly Movie Review: Premium Rush, Savages, Brake, Bourne Legacy, Arthur Christmas

Premium Rush

In Manhattan, a bike messenger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop (Michael Shannon), who pursues the cyclist throughout the city.

The Lone Ranger Trailer 2

Gore Verbinski's movie version of the old TV show, starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, shows more of its cards with this new trailer, showing off some of the humour and action.

Looks like there is going to be a lot of CGI... a cowboy version of Pirates of the Caribbean

Man Of Steel Trailer 2

We get to see more of Zach Snyder's vision of a Superman movie in this second trailer for Man of Steel.

The action picks up about 2/3's of the way through the trailer, with what appears to be an alien ship and some dodgy fire effects of Supes on fire. Hmmm...

Oblivion Trailer

First footage for the sci-fi movie starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman.

In Oblivion, a court martial sends a veteran soldier (Cruise) to a distant planet, where he has to destroy the remains of an alien race. The arrival of an unexpected traveler causes him to question what he knows about the planet, his mission, and himself.

Looks like Oblivion could be a action packed film. It's due out in UK cinemas with a release date of 12 April 2013.

Star Trek 2 Into Darkness Teaser Trailer

Benedict Cumberbatch shows us his mettle in this preview footage ahead of the full trailer on December 17. No one is still sure whether he's a good or bad guy.

Epic Trailer

In Epic, a teenager (Amanda Seyfried) finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. She bands together with a group of tiny forest people in order to save their world, and ours.

From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, giving Disney a run for their money, the movie also stars the voice talent of Beyoncé, Colin Farrell, Christoph Waltz and Jason Sudeikis.

The Prototype Trailer

Not sure how I missed out seeing this sci-fi trailer back in June, but I thought I would stick it up anyway.

The story follows the military as they try to track down a humanoid cyborg that escapes from a government facility. This actually looks pretty good! I like the helmet too, it sort of reminds me of Abe Sapien from Hellboy.

The film stars Neal McDonough (Minority Report) and Joseph Mawle, who had a brief role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and also Game of Thrones.

Oz The Great And Powerful Full Trailer

Not initially looking much different from the first trailer, but once it gets passed the opening sequence, there is a lot of new footage to be seen.

I especially liked the ending with the witch in the flames. I for one am looking forward to the movie next year.

Tuesday, 13 November 2012

The Host Trailer 2

Adapted from the novel by Stephanie Meyer - who wrote The Twilight Saga - this upcoming movie stars Saoirse Ronan, who I last saw in Hanna.

The film follows the story of one soul, the Wanderer, who is fused with a captured human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth.

Warm Bodies Trailer

Another zombie trailer for all you fans out there, again based on a novel by Isaac Marion.

Warm Bodies is humourous story about a zombie called R who falls in love with a live girl, played by Teresa Palmer. Problem is her dad is leader of the human survival settlement who wants all zombies shot on sight!

Looks like laughs and action.

World War Z First Trailer

If the zombies in 28 Days Later were fast, these ones seem to move faster albeit in a swarm.

Brad Pitt's upcoming movie about the invasion of a zombie army, based on Max Brooks' novel of a similar name, looks like it will be an all out action movie with a heavy focus on CGI zombies. We'll have to wait until June 2013 to find out.

Thursday, 8 November 2012

The Last Stand Final Trailer

Arnold Schwarzenegger and his small town sheriff department are the only thing standing in the way of the leader of a drug cartel who breaks out of a courthouse and speeds towards the Mexican border.

Looks like more of the same old Arnie from the 80s and 90s with his hammy acting and Austrian accent. There is sure to be lots of shooting and explosions in this one.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Movie Review

A Good Day To Die Hard Trailer

Bruce Willis is back as John McClane in this fifth Die Hard movie.

This time McClane heads to Russia to save his son from a terrorist threat, played by Jai Courtney, of TV's Spartacus: Blood and Sand fame.

Looks like plenty of explosions... Yippee ki-yay Mother Russia!

Evil Dead Red Band Trailer

The first footage of this Sam Raimi remake is now available to watch online.

If you didn't already know (and you should) the story follows Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, who heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror.

Looks pretty sick, the scene with the girl cutting her tongue on a knife is pretty gruesome, and there seem to be scenes leading me to believe the tree scene from the original may make a return...

Iron Man 3 Trailer

It's been a while since I posted on here, but this was too good to pass up.

Over the weekend there was a teaser trailer, but here in all its glory is the full trailer. Loving the look of Sir Ben Kingsley as Mandarin. Also the quiet sequences adding drama. Looks like this is going to round off the trilogy in an epic fashion.

Life Of Pi Trailer

It's been teased at online, and finally we get a look at Ang Lee's upcoming movie based on the book of the same name, by Yann Martel.

Life of Pi is the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper's son who finds himself in the company of a hyena, zebra, orangutan, and a Bengal tiger after a shipwreck sets them adrift in the Pacific Ocean.

I was a big fan of the book when it came out in 2001 and won the Man Booker Prize the following year.

Life of Pi has a UK release date of 21 December 2012. I'll be seeing that at Christmas then!

Man Of Steel Teaser Trailer

Henry Cavill is next up as Superman after Brandon Routh's attempt at playing the Man of Steel.

Bringing out the big guns by putting up the names of director Zack Snyder (Watchmen & 300) and produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy) this is just a short snippet to tease us ahead of it's June 14th 2013 release. Looks like an episode of Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch.

I like the sonic boom as Superman flies out of the clouds - I hope Snyder does us proud!

Does Batman Die In The Dark Knight Rises - Spoiler Alert

Does Batman Die in The Dark Knight Rises?

Does Batman die in The Dark Knight Rises? This seems to be the question on everyone's lips after David Letterman publicly declared that Batman was dead on his show last week. Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy may be over, but that does not mean someone else cannot pick up the mantle and continue the adventures.

Spoilers ahead - DO NOT read unless you have seen the Dark Knight Rises!

Oz The Great And Powerful Trailer

Disney and Sam Raimi have finally released a trailer for their Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz The Great And Powerful.

The trailer may start out in black & white, in a 4:3 ratio, but once the scene switches from Kansas to Oz and the big pushes of "Director of the Spider-Man Trilogy" Sam Raimi and "Producer of Alice In Wonderland" Joe Roth come in, the trailer switches to 16:9 and in full rich colour, showing what we can expect in 2013.

What do you think? I say, bring on the flying monkeys!

Frankenweenie - Trailer

Disney and Tim Burton show off some new footage of the stop-motion black & white 3D animation.

Frankenweenie is a story of a boy and his dog that transcends the borders of life and death after an accident takes Sparky the dog away from a young boy Victor. This is actually a remake of a short film Burton made in 1984. Looks promising.

Taken 2 - Trailer

Liam Neeson is back in the sequel to the movie that made old men fighting cool again.

This time however the tables are turned as the family of the bad guys he killed in the first movie are out for revenge. His daughter has to help him out in this movie.

Dredd - Trailer

First footage for the 2000 A.D. Judge Dredd movie starring Karl Urban as the judge, jury and executioner himself.

The audio and video quality is poor - looks like it's ripped off TV - but it seems that Urban has captured Dredd's signature gravely voice quite well. I'm not going to comment on special effects until I see a better quality version of this and shall reserve judg(e)ment until then.

If you're wondering, the music in this Dredd trailer is Skream's remix of Le Roux's In For The Kill.

Storage 24 - Trailer

I do like Noel Clarke movies and I've been waiting for a trailer for this British horror sci-fi for a while now - somehow it sneaked past me a month or two ago.

A military cargo plane has crashed leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. Completely unaware London is in lockdown, a couple who have recently broken up are at Storage 24 dividing up their possessions with some friends. Suddenly, the power goes off. Trapped in a dark maze of endless corridors, a mystery predator is hunting them one by one. In a place designed to keep things in, how do you get out?

Friday, 15 June 2012

Resident Evil: Retribution - Trailer

Milla Jovovich is back again as Alice, in Capcom's big screen adaptation of the famous video game.

Loving the opening sequence of this, with everything all nice and serene in suburbia, and then it all goes tits up. Good to see Michelle Rodriguez back too. The CGI looks a bit over the top as usual. The monster looks a bit crap. Fingers crossed this is as good as the others.

Thursday, 7 June 2012

Django Unchained - Trailer

First look at Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.

I haven't really been keeping tabs on this as I don't believe Tarantino has done anything good since Pulp Fiction - with the exception of Inglorious Bastards - but I'm pleasantly surprised by this trailer. DiCaprio looks exceptional in his role as the bad guy, and there are going to be some classic one liners. "Gentlemen, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention." At this rate, Christmas cannot come soon enough.

Wednesday, 6 June 2012

Wreck-It Ralph - Trailer

Disney showcase their upcoming animated movie starring John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman.

Anchorman 2 - Teaser Trailer

Ron Burgundy is back folks! Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner return in what's (sure?) to be a funny sequel

If you have jeans, cream them now! You'll see what I mean, watch the trailer below.

Skyfall - Teaser Trailer

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007.

We get our first glimpses of what we can expect. Plenty of action. Dame Judie Dench is still in there there as M (or is she?). Javier Bardem is nicely silhouetted against flames as the villain. Great music too. Bond looks as hard as steel. Should be good!

Oh, and afterwards, there's a short clip added of the upcoming game, 007 Legends, featuring Moonraker in Episode 1, which looks pretty cool, if you're a gamer.

We Need To Talk About Kevin - Movie Review

Looking for a real life thriller that'll have you thinking and discussing it for days on end?

Thursday, 10 May 2012

Gangster Squad - Trailer

Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, and Ryan Gosling star in this movie about a squad of cops in 1940s Los Angeles whose job it was to stop East Coast Mafiosos from setting up shop in their city.

Penn looks eerie with the face-make up and Gosling has a few scenes that are reminiscent of his work in Drive. Anyone else thing Brolin is starting to look a lot like Tommy Lee Jones?

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland). Also stars Michael Peña, Emma Stone, Robert Patrick and Nick Nolte.

Saturday, 5 May 2012

The Watch - Red Band Trailer

Starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill, this movie is about a group of suburban dads who form a neighbourhood watch group as a way to get out of their day-to-day family routines and find themselves defending the Earth from an alien invasion.

It was previously know as Neighbourhood Watch.

iLL Manors - Trailer

iLL Manors is the directorial debut by British rapper Ben Drew (aka Plan B).

A unique crime thriller set on the unforgiving streets of London, iLL Manors follows six disparate lives, all struggling to survive the circles of violence that engulf them. Makes me think of a London-based, British version of City of God.

iLL Manors is out in UK cinemas on 6 June 2012.

The Amazing Spider-Man - Trailer 3

Andrew Garfield is the new Peter Parker in this third trailer showing more footage of this upcoming super hero movie.

After Avengers, I'm really liking the look of this film, more so than the new Batman movie. Can't wait to see this!

Thursday, 3 May 2012

The Expendables 2 - Trailer

Stallone. Schwarzenegger. Willis. Statham. Li. Lundgren. Norris. Van Damme. Say no more.

To be fair, the first one wasn't great, it was ok, it was just cool to see every 80's action hero in one film. This looks like more of the same.

Tuesday, 1 May 2012

The Dark Knight Rises - Trailer 3

New footage of Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as Bane.

You don't actually see Batman until over half way through the new trailer. Still, looks like there's plenty of cool new stuff in there. Turning out to be a good super hero Summer.

Prometheus - International Trailer 3

Holy shitballs! Ridley Scott's upcoming Alien prequel just keeps looking better and better with each new trailer. This movie is going to blow our minds! (figuratively not literally)

Loving how the have pitched it as from the director of Blade Runner and Gladiator, should pull in a few more punters with those lines.

The sort-of sequel to Knocked-Up. This is a look at the lives of Pete and Debbie a few years after the events of the original movie.

Directed by Judd Apatow. With Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jason Segel, and best of all, from Bridesmaids, Melissa McCarthy.

A third look at the animated film from Disney & Pixar.

More comedy and action with fiery redhead Merida in this Scottish tale.

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation - Trailer UK

A second lot of footage for the upcoming movie starring The Rock and Bruce Willis.

There are some familiar scenes from the first trailer but also plenty of new footage showing how it carries on from the first movie now that the president is an impostor. Lots of explosions and cool tech. Can't wait for this, I'm such a kid!

Monday, 23 April 2012

Cosmopolis - Full Trailer

Robert Pattinson stars as Eric Packer, a young billionaire who discovers he's lost his entire fortune whilst on a limo journey across New York.

I must admit, the more I see of this David Cronenberg film, the more I want to see it. Reminds me a lot of Strange Days. Also stars Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche, Samantha Morton and Jay Baruchel.

The Five Year Engagement - Red Band Trailer

There are a few funny one-liners in here but I must admit I'm a bit sceptical about this now after seeing this trailer. Looks a bit disjointed... or maybe it's just a shit trailer.

Friday, 20 April 2012

The Raid - Red Band Trailer

Really looking forward to this Indonesian action thriller from Welsh director Gareth Evans.

The story revolves around a SWAT team that becomes trapped in a tenement run by a ruthless mobster and his army of killers and thugs.

The Bourne Legacy - International Trailer

Hot off the back of Jeremy Renner being a hard ass in Avengers as Hawkeye comes and Japanese trailer for the new Bourne movie showing off some new moves and action.

Holding thumbs this proves to be as good as the previous movies.

Thursday, 19 April 2012

Magic Mike - Trailer

It's not often Steven Soderbergh is associated with male strippers.

Magic Mike is a comedy starring Channing Tatum in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

Also stars Matthew McConaughey, who looks like he could be the life of the party.

Your Sister's Sister - Trailer

Mark Duplass and Emily Blunt star in this comedy drama.

Iris (Blunt) invites her friend Jack (Duplass) to stay at her family's island getaway after the death of his brother. At their remote cabin, Jack's drunken encounter with Hannah, Iris' sister, kicks off a revealing stretch of days.

I like these types of movies, very real situations which have you going geez, how is this going to play out.

Tuesday, 17 April 2012

High School - Trailer

Basic premise is as follows, a high school valedictorian who gets baked with the local stoner finds himself the subject of a drug test. The situation causes him to concoct an ambitious plan to get his entire graduating class to face the same fate, and fail.

Adrien Brody stars as Psycho Ed, a drug dealer who the kids try to rip off to get the class baked. Also stars Michael Chiklis, Colin Hanks, Yeardley Smith and Michael Vartan.

Sunday, 15 April 2012

Friday, 13 April 2012

Looper - Trailer

Finally, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's upcoming scifi movie gets a full trailer. Directed by Rian Johnson.

Gordon-Levitt stars as a time-traveling hit man working for the mob who has to assassinate his future self, played by Bruce Willis. Looks like lots of bullets and explosions. His face has been rendered almost unrecognizable so he more closely resembles a young Willis.

Wednesday, 11 April 2012

Monday, 2 April 2012

Total Recall - Full Trailer

Starring Colin Farrell, this showcases what we can expect from the reboot of the 1990 original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And I must say it looks very tasty indeed. The camera work, although probably CG, looks excellent. And guards are reminiscent of Mass Effect or Vanquish video games. All ni all, looking forward to this one, and I'm a big fan of the original.

Ted - Red Band Trailer

From Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, comes Ted, the story of a man and his teddy bear, who comes to life as the result of a childhood wish.

This looks right up my street. Bit worried that Mark Wahlberg can pull it off though...

Thursday, 29 March 2012

Rise of the Guardians - Trailer

Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Jack Frost all make an appearance in this animated trailer from Dreamworks.

Wednesday, 28 March 2012

Hotel Transylvania - Trailer

Finally we get to see footage of the animated monster movie starring Adam Sandler.

I do like Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons, so I'm looking forward to this. Also starring (the voices of) David Spade! Fran Drescher (eek), Steve Buscemi! and Cee Lo Green (the F**k You song guy).

Total Recall (2012) - Teaser Trailer

Another Colin Farrell reboot, this time for the 1990 Schwarzenegger original scifi movie Total Recall. This is just a teaser for the full trailer release on Apple iTunes this Sunday, but it gives a good taste of things to come.

Looks a bit better than his Fright Night remake.

The Dictator - Trailer

New footage from the upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen comedy. Some of the opening footage we've seen already but there's plenty of new stuff.

It is also immediately apparent that this is more of a movie than a parody like Borat and Bruno. Still looks good though. Some funny scenes in the shop like taking out the trash and the rude customers.

Monday, 26 March 2012

Wednesday, 21 March 2012
